Elegant wedding flat lay featuring embroidered bridal shoes, diamond engagement rings in a velvet box, vintage gold tray, perfume, and delicate accessories.

Let’s talk about morning weddings.

Not accidentally-happened-to-be-early weddings. Not “this was the only slot available” weddings. I’m talking about intentional, golden-lit, fresh-air, tea-on-the-porch-vibes morning weddings. The kind that used to be the norm not too long ago. And honestly? I think they’re due for a major comeback.

There’s something in the air in the morning—literally. The light is different. The sounds are softer. The energy is full of potential. And as a photographer, I can’t help but say it: the light is everything. The sun is on the opposite side of the sky compared to a typical afternoon wedding. Shadows are longer, the light more tender. Cameras love that kind of light. And so will your memories.

A couple shares a playful and intimate moment on the beach, laughing and touching hands in a candid black-and-white wedding photo.

There’s a reason couples come to me saying, “We don’t want stiff, awkward photos—we just want to feel like ourselves.”

I get it. You’ve seen wedding photos that feel overly posed, where couples look like they’re standing in a lineup instead of actually living in their day. That’s not the energy you want. You want to look back at your photos and feel the movement, the emotion, and the in-between moments that make the day yours.

So, how do you get wedding photos that feel completely natural? The kind that capture not just how your day looked, but how it felt?

Photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about capturing how a moment feels. Your wedding day will be a whirlwind of emotions, fleeting glances, and quiet, beautiful in-between moments. And the way you’ll remember it forever? That comes down to the photographer you choose. Finding the right wedding photographer isn’t just about hiring someone with a […]

Wedding Photoshoot in san Francisco

Lora and Jesse’s wedding at San Francisco City Hall was truly breathtaking. The simple ceremony was followed by family photos at Lora’s family home, which added a special touch to the occasion. The reception at Tarroco, a restaurant in Berkeley, was beautifully decorated with floral arrangements by the talented bride – who is a florist herself. It was a joy to capture this special day for Lora and Jesse, as I had previously photographed her cousin’s wedding in San Francisco, which is how we met. The day was elegant, bright, with touches of modern eclecticism – a testament to how simple can be absolutely lovely.

The excitement that comes with shooting a repeat client is unlike any other. It’s like reconnecting with an old friend, picking up right where you left off, but with a fresh new perspective. And this recent session at the lush green Indigeny Reserve in Sonora, California was no different

Family Photoshoot in tuolumne county

Some photoshoots just have a little extra magic, and my recent session with Lucas, Alice, and their mother, Julie, in Twain Harte, California, was one of them. This spot has quickly become one of my favorites, and it’s easy to see why. With its open meadow vibes, forested backdrops, and breathtaking fall colors, it offers endless possibilities for beautiful photos.
